Sarah orchidsA Scottish ecologist studying marine megafauna. I specialise in animal behaviour, bioacoustics, and underwater soundscapes, particularly with regard to marine mammals.  I also have a passion for science communication and enjoy encouraging others to get enthusiastic about the natural world.

After several years in Australia, I returned back to the UK in 2018 to take up a lectureship at the University of Portsmouth. I have recently returned to Scotland to join Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC) as a Lecturer in Ecology. Further details of my past and present research, teaching, and student projects can be found on this site.
